Bitcoin Wednesday is always held on the first Wednesday of every month!
The next event will be held on 7 October 2015.
When the traditional offerings of any industry fail to meet all of the world’s needs it inspires, by definition, innovation. The collapse of the global financial system in 2008 sparked the creation of the Bitcoin Blockchain, and since then, innovation in this sector has continued to expand and accelerate.
The October 2015 edition of Bitcoin Wednesday on 7 October, 2015 will be dedicated to exactly this kind of innovation.
Daniel Hassan, lead software engineer for the Helsinki-based activist hedge fund, Robin Hood, and an expert on the creation of financial instruments to bring about sustainable social impact, will talk about his work with blockchain technology, synthetic finance, distributed autonomous organizations and decentralized apps.
Evan Duffield, founder and lead developer of the anonymous cryptocurrency, Dash, will deliver a keynote about the innovative features that distinguish it from Bitcoin and its competitors. Evan will announce his team’s highly awaited next-generation system, code-named “Evolution” in Amsterdam during this edition of Bitcoin Wednesday.
Daniel Diaz, a serial entrepreneur from Panama, is responsible for Business Development for the anonymous cryptocurrency, Dash. His presentation for Bitcoin Wednesday will be about the four fundamental conditions that a decentralized currency needs to satisfy in order to be viable.
Robert Wiecko, one of the two leading project managers for the anonymous cryptocurrency, Dash, will explain the challenges of adding and improving innovative features in a decentralized digital coin.
Robert is a certified Scrum Master, PM and ITIL professional who has worked for multinationals UBS, Cambridge Technology Partners, Hewlett Packard, Swiss Re, Greenpeace, Procter & Gamble, Swisscom and Novartis.
Working with Robert Wiecko as a leading project manager for Dash is Balázs Király, known as Balu, a certified Scrum Master from Budapest with an MBA in finance. Balu will talk about the state-of-the-art systems and processes they use to help Dash innovate faster than their competitors.
Wassili Zafiris, a change consultant, high performance coach and expert on the psychology of money, will deliver an interactive presentation on the hidden assumptions of the digital currency culture and the impact of this technology on society
Serial entrepreneur Oscar Kneppers will present his vision of startup entrepreneurship and how new companies in the digital currency sector might find a place there. Mr. Kneppers is CEO and founder of Rockstart, which has one of the best-known programs for startups in The Netherlands.
You are invited to join us once again on 7 October 2015 for another program revolving around the important recurring theme of cryptocurrencies in Dutch society. As you’ve come to expect, networking will be at the heart of this event: run into your old, familiar Bitcoin Wednesday friends and colleagues and tell stories about the early days; meet the newcomers and share your ideas about the future. After a number of thought-provoking conference presentations, there will be ample opportunity for networking at the bar.
Mark your calendar for the first Wednesday of October so that we can raise a toast together to the increasing role of Bitcoin in Dutch society.
So that the digital currency revolution leaves no one behind, please bring colleagues, friends, family and neighbors with you.
Bitcoin Wednesday is an accessible event for anyone who has interest in digital currencies or the related technologies, a great chance to meet other like-minded professionals, and exchange ideas in an informal atmosphere.
Mark it down in your agenda; join us on Wednesday, 7 October at 17:00. The conference itself begins at 19:00, but we gather earlier at the bar for networking.
Like most Bitcoin Wednesday conferences this event is free, but space is limited and advance registration is required.
