Governance and the Blockchain : The Final Frontier

Mountain Peak

Climate change, economy, unemployment, immigration, regulatory capture and so many other of the world’s greatest problems, consistently frustrate the efforts of national governments and politicians.  It seems they can no longer be solved by the efforts of a single country, but require an increasingly global and decentralized perspective.

Enter the blockchain, a borderless solution with its potential to establish global networks without a central authority.  Although still in an experimental phase, the amount of innovation and early successes in this sector has captured the world’s imagination. What is decentralized governance?  Can digital currencies, consensus algorithms, smart contracts and decentralized autonomous organizations be building blocks for new models of governance?  What does governance and the blockchain look like today, and what possible forms will it take in the future?

On Friday, 2 December 2016, Bitcoin Wednesday will present a special workshop on Governance and the Blockchain in the main hall at Pakhuis De Zwijger in Amsterdam from 13:45 to 15:15.

This detailled description of the workshop includes background info for each of the speakers and instructions on how to register.
