We periodically conduct polls during Bitcoin Wednesday to gain insights about our audience that might be useful to the sector. At our conference on 5 June, 2019 we polled our audience of 110 people on the topic of Bitcoin maximalism with the following four questions:
- How many people in the audience have no cryptocurrency?
Only 6 people raised their hands. - How many people in the audience have only Bitcoin and no other alt-coin? Only 22 people raised their hands.
- How many people have alt-coins and no bitcoins?
Only 2 people raised their hands. - How many people have both Bitcoin and alt-coins?
80 people raised their hands.
For this poll an alt-coin is considered to be any other cryptocurrency aside from Bitcoin core. Bitcoin dominance on that date was 55.60%, and the evening’s program was 100% dedicated to this cryptocurrency.
Although the Bitcoin price more than doubled in the first 6 months of 2019, the results nevertheless fall within the margin of error compared to the poll we did on 3 October, 2018.
