What is the Blockchain?
During Bitcoin Wednesday on 4 May, 2016, Lodewijk André de la Porte will give a presentation about the innovative potential of digital currency technology, including blockchains, smart contracts and what it all means for sustainable urban economies and the financial sector.
Lodewijk has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Utrecht and is currently studying Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam. He assists with the organization of Bitcoin Wednesday and The Bitcoin Foundation of The Netherlands.
A long-time enthousiast of Bitcoin and distributed technologies, Lodewijk has worked on mesh networking and bitcoin software. He participated in cypherpunk and transhumanist mailing lists, but considers himself very moderate politically.
