Edge Cryptocurrency Wallet
For Bitcoin Wednesday on 2 October, 2019 CEO Paul Puey of Edge, producer of the Edge mobile cryptocurrency wallet, will present latest developments. He will be giving away free alt-coins to attendees of Bitcoin Wednesday throughout the evening.
The Edge wallet is a decentralized, secure and backed up crypto wallet that aims to provide financial autonomy and privacy for its users. For those who know and have used the Airbitz, Edge is its successor. Airbitz was one of the top 3 mobile Bitcoin apps in the 2014 Blockchain Awards. Paul’s startup was voted the number 1 Bitcoin company by the World Crypto Network.
Paul is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s computer science and electrical engineering programs. After his graduation he worked as a lead software engineer for chip manufacturers Nvidia Corporation and Chromatic Research. He writes, “Now my goal is to bring Bitcoin mainstream with software and products aimed at simplifying Bitcoin and making it insanely easy to send and secure this revolutionary cryptocurrency while maintaining the highest level of privacy.”
Outside of Airbitz Paul spends time with his family, his wife, their little Maltese and a son. He also loves rock climbing, either at his local gym in San Diego or outside on some nearby outdoor rocks in Joshua Tree. In a previous life he was a manager and instructor at a climbing gym where he first learned how to balance people, business and technology.
Paul gave the talk Blockchain Forks: What Are They and What Should You Do About Them at Bitcoin Wednesday on 6 June, 2018 in which he discussed the various types of forks, the possible dangers and pitfalls and what users can do to protect themselves and benefit from these events. Hard forks and their ability to launch new currencies represents a paradigm shift in currency competition, a phenomenon never before seen occurrence in the financial world. Paul also gave an even earlier presentation about single sign on at Bitcoin Wednesday on 7 December, 2016.
