Ron Dijkstra is the CEO of LoyalGarden, a service that allows users to exchange loyalty points in a digital wallet. He and his colleague, LoyalGarden CTO Kiril Ivanov will give a presentation on what the blockchain can add to loyalty programs on Bitcoin Wednesday on 7 June 2017.
Loyalty programs rarely reach their full potential due to account inactivity, low redemption rates and time delays. Currently only 42 percent of individuals eligible for loyalty programs are active members.
LoyalGarden aims to eliminate those inefficiencies with a blockchain-based solution that integrates all kinds of loyalty programs into one interlinked network. Users
of the service can collect points from different loyalty programs in a single wallet. This wallet will provide nearly real-time redemption, the ability to donate to friends, exchange points between programs and sell or buy with their IBAN.
For the loyalty program providers the tokenization of loyalty points will create a unique, traceable and fraud-resistant loyalty program that gives clear understanding of current, unused loyalty points.
Enhance customer engagement by linking them to more service providers will likely result in more active members and thereby increased use and liquidity. Furthermore our solution will give transparent reporting and tracking and as a byproduct data analysis in customer behavior.
Ron was previously an executive manager responsible for policy, contract management and procurement for several municipalities in The Netherlands. He has a degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Groningen. He discovered blockchain technology in 2014, and by the end of 2016 he jumped the wagon, gave up his job, and started a MSc in Digital Currencies at the University of Nicosia.
