Trent McConaghy, from BigchainDB Explained Decentralized Databases

Trent McConaghy of Ascribe and BigChainDB

Back for Bitcoin Wednesday on 6 April, 2016 is accomplished artificial intelligence researcher Trent McConaghy.  Trent delivered a keynote at September 2015’s Bitcoin Wednesday on ascribe.io his blockchain-based solution for registering ownership on the Internet.

This time, he will talk about his latest creation, BigchainDB.  BigchainDB fills a gap in the decentralization ecosystem: a decentralized database at scale.  It has big-data performance levels, a rich querying system, and a permissioning system that supports public and private deployment.  It’s complementary to decentralized processing platforms like Ethereum, and decentralized file systems like IPFS.

Trent is co-inventor of the BigchainDB scalable blockchain database, and the blockchain service for intellectual property ascribe.io.  Previously he co-founded Solido Design Automation, which uses large-scale machine learning to help drive Moore’s Law. Trent has written two critically-acclaimed books on machine learning and circuits, in addition to 50 papers and patents. He has given keynotes and invited talks at MIT, Columbia, Berkeley, JPL, and Nvidia, among others.  You can find more background about Trent here.
