The key signing will be organized by Bits of Freedom and supervised by Bits of Freedom sponsor and volunteer Rob van der Wouw. It will be preceded by a short presentation about the basics of key signing and a demonstration of how it is done.
After the public demo and during a break in the presentations, those who have specifically registered for the key signing party will be given the opportunity to meet and verify each other’s identities as well as their corresponding public keys.
Register for The Key Signing
To register, complete and submit the form below as soon as possible. Due to time constraints and depending on the number of people who register, we can't guarantee that everyone will be able to participate, but we will make our best effort to accommodate as many people as possible in the approximate order in which they register. You must also be registered via Meetup.com/BitcoinWednesday.
Please note that for a key signing it is recommended but not required that you bring two government-issued photo IDs and possibly some other secondary proof that others would use to verify your identity like, say, a (redacted) utility bill or bank statement. Each participant in the signing decides individually when and to whom he will show a proof of ID and whether he or she wants to sign someone else's key.
