Crypto Custody: Back to the Future
Trustology Founder and CEO Alex Batlin will discuss the future of custody and custodial wallet services. Trustology provides a custodial wallet with instant transactions, customer support, institutional-grade security and insurance coverage for both businesses and individuals. It was founded in 2017 as a ConsenSys spoke, and recognised as a Hot 10 emerging innovator by FinTech50 list in 2018.
Alex was previously Global Blockchain Lead and Head of the Emerging Business and Technology team at BNY Mellon. At the bank he was responsible for research and development, strategy, business models, products and services related to emerging technologies. Before coming to BNY Mellon he served as a Senior Innovation Manager at UBS. At UBS he was a founding head of UBS’ FinTech Innovation Lab based in UK’s Level 39 Accelerator and its Crypto 2.0 Pathfinder research program. He was also lead UBS’ technology research service which delivered market surveys, insights and forecasts for the bank’s business, technology and leadership communities. As an engineer in UBS’ technology R&D team, he covered big data, social media, cloud and mobile computing, device security, unified communications and cognitive computing. Even further back, he headed the bank’s global Software Delivery Lifecycle services.
Preceding his career at BNY Mellon and UBS, Alex worked for Nomura Bank, JP Morgan and CSC. He has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Bristol.
