He will give an overview of Augur v2 and cover some of the positive externalities and potential social impacts of prediction markets. Through his work at Pantera Capital, he also has substantial experience with impact investing in the blockchain ecosystem.
Leontien Hasselman-Plugge is the CEO of SIM Supply Chain which has mapped more than 200,000 supply chains and uses blockchain technology to enhance the traceability and provenance of products for brands and retailers in the FMCG sector. She will show how her solution is used to improve environmental and social conditions.
Blockchain engineer Mario Pavlovic is product owner at the Energy Web Foundation, where he is responsible for finding a fit between technological capabilities and the needs of the energy market. His work is centered on increasing adoption of renewable energy sources.
Blockchain engineer Roelof Reineman has worked for 5 years at Eneco, a producer and supplier of gas, electricity and heat for more than 2 million business and residential customers in The Netherlands. He will talk about applying blockchain use cases in the energy market from a corporate perspective.
Paul Puey is CEO of Edge, producer of the Edge and Airbitz mobile cryptocurrency wallets. A graduate of UC Berkeley's computer science and electrical engineering programs, he previously worked as a lead software engineer for chip manufacturers Nvidia Corporation and Chromatic Research. He will be giving away free alt-coins throughout the evening.
Raphaël Mazet is a co-founder of Alice.si, an Ethereum app for social impact. Before Alice, he served for ten years in corporate relations and digital advocacy in Europe, Latin America and the U.S. He became fascinated with blockchain technology in 2015 when he discovered the potential for smart contracts to increase funding in the non-profit sector by improving transparency and accountability.
